In my opinion, this is the best football manager game ever available for any platform in the world, and it remains the best, as it is really good to play even today, despite the old graphics.

The original game had 4 full English divisions plus all the European championships with teams from all over Europe, which was already very good to play, but I always wanted a game like this to play with Brazilian teams, and this was my main idea when making this Mod.
So how do you convert a game based in England/Europe to one based in Brazil/South America? Luckily for me, both structures were very similar, and I just had to adapt them in a clever way, see here a table with the original and what became in my version.

With the main idea defined, let’s start the work…

My first challenge was to code everything in hexadecimal since there was no tool to make a mod for this game at that time, but since I had been doing this since the MSX, it wasn’t that difficult for me. But my biggest work was in the research area, although my first research done to make Sensible Soccer PLUS was the starting point for making this Mod, but I would need many more Brazilian teams, but the good news is that I would no longer need to know the kits.
Well, first I had to convert all 4 English divisions with 20 teams each to Brazilian teams, plus 4 other teams that started without a division with their respective players. That means 84 teams with more than 2500 players in total.

Okay, now I had a lot of work to do, but that wasn’t all. I would need teams from all over South America to replace all the teams from Europe, so that I could have the South American championships running. Now I’m going to have a lot more work to do, and in 1994 the internet wasn’t available here in Brazil, apart from its very restricted use in universities, and it was very limited in the rest of the world. And even if I had this access, I probably wouldn’t find everything I needed online.
So getting all the information I needed was really difficult, but for the foreign teams it was really hell! In the end I ended up filling the teams with made-up names because it was impossible to get information about, for example, the second team of a team from the second division in Peru. At least all the team names were 100% correct.

I remember watching the news and watching goals on TV, and when an unknown team appeared, I would write down everything I could about it on a piece of paper and then add it to the game. This was a long and drawn-out process that took me months to complete. One problem that made me waste a lot of time was the lack of teams. In Europe, we have many more countries than in South America, so we have many more teams in the championships there than here in South America… so it got to a point where I had already added all the teams I knew, including the worst teams I had ever seen in my life, and still there were teams missing.
So I had no choice but to start adding Mexican teams to the game. Funny enough, many years later, Mexican teams also started participating in these championships.

The result was really good and really fun to play. All the images you see here are from a saved game I played with Flamengo starting in the Brazilian 4th Division, and now I’m leading the 1st Division and playing my 13th Season. It’s really an amazing game!

Just unzip into a folder then execute DISC1.EXE and answer Y to all questions. Now do the same with DISC2.EXE and the game will be installed.
Run BRA.EXE to play with my Brazilian Mod, or BMP.EXE to play the original game.
If you can’t run this under your Windows, or is crashing all the time, try DOSBox, a great DOS Emulator, then will play without problems.
