In July 2004 I received an invite by David Lin of the NYC based label Synthphony Records to produce a full length remix album.
The initial project was remix 10 tracks of bands selected by the label, but since I already have few unreleased remixes, and was already in negotiations with some bands and also making somes, David let me select all the tracks and produce my remix album, which make me very happy.
The entire album was produced, programmed, arranged and mixed by myself. Ken Porter from the american band Intuition was in charge of the mastering.

I had a good freedom in the choice of the bands, and tryed to mix the classic synthpop from 80’s with the modern scene, inviting from big and famous bands, until novices which don’t even have an album out yet, but all with top quality.
With that, the CD became very diversified, not making the album monotonous or repetitive, beeing great to listen from the first until the last track, forming a modern synthpop album to all the tastes. Below you will find details about each track with samples, links, etc… You can also listen all the tracks at YouTube and purchase hi definition audio at Bandcampor even buy the CD at Amazon.
“Rio De Janeiro, Brazil is known for many things: Beautiful sun-tanned beaches, exotically enticing women, scrumptious cuisines and now, Freddy Hajas. Born in 1975, Freddy became entranced by music at a young age, playing imaginary drums and guitar (much to the chagrin of his poor motheres furniture) and in his teens became infatuated with his now rabid obsession: synthpop music. Freddy began taking careful notes from his favorite electro-pop heroes such as Information Society, New Order, Red Flag, Cause & Effect and Duran Duran. Many of the artists found in this volume of Synthphony REMIXed will be familiar to those involved in the growing synthpop scene. The Southern California’s own Color Theory has received the Hajas treatment to a cover of a Depeche Mode classic. Two of Germany’s best electronic bands, !Distain and New Concept. Virtual Server featuring Beborn Beton is Russia’s famous DJ Ram. The Dignity of Labour (TDOL) is a fresh American act which is sure to open many eyes with their originality and poignant lyricism. Veteran active electro acts such as Anything Box, Real Life and the classic duo of Will Loconto/Steve Paul (T-42) appear alongside eager newcomers like Canada’s Droom, Project David (Voice In Fashion), Opium and Tristraum.”
Dan Koven (Side-Line/SPN)
“This limited edition release is sure to sell out quickly. Hot on the heel of Synthphony REMIXed! Vol.1, this cd churns out dance hits one after another.”
“My favorite new release of this week was the new volume in Synthphony Record’s new “Remixed!” series. This one features exclusive remixes of many cool songs, all mixed by Brazil’s synthpop guru Freddy Hajas. Aside from having new versions of songs by bands like Droom, Virtual Server, The Dignity of Labour, Distain!, Tristraum, Opium, Color Theory, etc. it also features some pretty well established acts too, like Anything Box and Real Life. Most of these tracks can’t be found elsewhere, so it’s a fun one to pick up, and Freddy has a nice way of blending some classic synthpop elements into his mixes that sound familiar yet refreshing.”
Todd Durrant (A Different Drum)
