Project David / The Voice In Fashion

Project David is the excellent solo project of David Hanono, who, alongside his brother Sal Hanono, formed the band The Voice In Fashion, which became known worldwide with the hits “Only In The Night” and especially “Give Me Your Love”, a band led by the famous producer Lewis A Martineé, who produced everything from Exposé to “Domino Dancing” by Pet Shop Boys, which featured backing vocals from none other than David Hanono himself.

When I found him on the internet, The Voice in Fashion was unfortunately buried, and he was venturing into a very interesting solo project that I really liked. His first and only solo album was called Now, and even featured some re-recordings of lesser-known songs from The Voice in Fashion like “I’m Wasting My Time” and “You Will Smile Again”.

I soon recommended his new work to Todd Durrant of A Different Drum, who was always looking for new stuff like me, and ended up releasing two songs on ADD Compilations, “Whenever You Want To Sing” on the CD In Need, and “We’ll Go On” on the CD Shadow Dancing, both in 2000.

In 2004, when I was working on my album, I invited him to participate in my album, and I chose to remix my favorite song of his, “We’ll Go On”, which ended up being one of the highlights of my album.

I ended up helping with several connections so that the band could get back on track, and after a lot of work and encouragement, they ended up reuniting with The Voice in Fashion, releasing new albums and even playing in Brazilwith Stevie B.

As a thank you, they sent me the new The Voice In Fashion album autographed and included me in the acknowledgements. I am very happy to have helped bring this incredible band back together.
