Monolithic

In 2002, the American band Monolithic opened a Remix Contest to select remixes for their future releases. I was excited about the results I had with Virtual Server and decided to participate. Monolithic was formed by only one member, just like Hajas, who called himself Midihead, or just Mike to his friends.

He used to be part of the band Paradigm, but due to musical differences, he left the band in 1999 and went solo with Monolithic, which ended up winning the 2001 ASA(American Synthpop Awards) award for Best Album of 2001, which was presented at a ceremony by none other than Kurt Harland of the Information Society.

The first place winner would receive a cash prize of US$100, and the best remixes would be used in his future releases, as well as being placed on his homepage for download. Unfortunately I didn’t get first place, but I was very happy that my version was among the 7 best versions in the world and was placed on your website and on the now defunct Ampcast for download. Unfortunately this remix was never officially released.
