In 2009, I was called after finishing third in a public selection process to work in the IT Department of Eletrobras, the Brazilian energy holding company, where I worked for almost 15 years. It was a place I entered full of hope of pursuing a long career, and coincidentally, it was where my father worked when he passed away. He designed turbines for hydroelectric plants.

As soon as I arrived, they wanted to implement videoconferencing in the company to save on executive travel, since there were subsidiaries in various parts of the country, and this would save money mainly on airfare and accommodation.
Because of my background as a music producer, I already knew everything about cabling and a bit about acoustics, as well as a good knowledge of video and, of course, servers. That’s why I ended up taking over the company’s videoconferencing department, where I designed, together with the architects, all the videoconferencing rooms for the company and many subsidiaries, including several automation systems. I installed and operated all the equipment, in addition to training several teams from all the directorates and the presidency, both for the holding company and for several subsidiaries.

I was responsible for holding the first video conference between all Eletrobras companies, with the participation of the Ministry of Mines and Energy (MME), which then became a routine. They used Radivision MCUs and Sonyequipment at the Holding, and the subsidiaries varied greatly, such as Polycom and Tandberg, which was later acquired and incorporated by Cisco.
After more than 5 years leading Videoconferencing, at the request of the Division Manager, I moved to work as a developer, my origin, in what became known as the SAP Project, which was quite chaotic and they needed experienced developers, where I worked a lot with SAP/ABAP. Between comings and goings, I dedicated almost 3 years to SAP.

I started working at Eletrobras headquarters, but since 2018 I have also been working directly with FURNAS, one of Eletrobras’ subsidiaries. I ended up working temporarily in other locations, such as the FURNAS headquarters in Botafogo and the completely renovated building in the city center.
In these almost 15 years of dedicated work for the company, I have worked with several different subjects and technologies, these below I believe were the main ones:
- WEB Server Administrator with .NET & ASP support
- Application Server Administrator (Various)
