Who doesn’t remember Noel, who had a huge success with the hits “Silent Morning” and “Like a Child” in 1988 and who are still played today? At the time, he was produced by several greats, such as Paul Robb from Information Society and Tony Moran from Latin Rascals.
After his excellent single The Question, an excellent album was expected, but he changed his style, trying to be more Pop, causing the failure of his second and last album in 1993, and then he disappeared.
In 2000, he decided to return to work, taking advantage of the fact that several famous Freestyle artists from the past were also returning, such as TKA, Coro and Johnny O. Then he met the famous producer FORD, who doesn’t do Freestyle, but Trance. FORD is one of the best in this business and launched the singer Robin Fox, for example.
In 2001, they released the single “Will I Find True Love” together with 11 versions, and none of them really impressed me much, despite having some Freestyle versions. And since I liked the song even in its Trance version, I decided to do something closer to the style that made it famous, but more modern, of course.
So I had the idea of remixing this song on my own in order to practice on Renoise, the program I had just started and needed more practice. The result was really cool, more like Modern Synthpop than Freestyle.
In the meantime, my friend Shervin, better known as Synth-Master, who is a DJ in the US, was the guest DJ at a show by the band Irison Saturday, September 20, 2003 in San Antonio, Texas, USA, and played this my remix, which was a big hit, according to him, more than many other songs.
Excited about the result, I ended up posting it on some forums on the internet with the intention of promoting my work, including on Freestyle forums.
With that, it ended up reaching many DJs and was soon playing in several American clubs and radio stations specializing in freestyle, while also playing in synthpop environments. I believe it was the most played remix of my career.
Incredibly, it was not an official remix, and I even did everything I could to get it on my remix album, when I got Noel‘s authorization, but unfortunately I never got a response from FORD, and so it was cut, and to this day it remains without a proper release.
To this day, my version is considered the best version of this song by many fans around the world.
