HER Battlefield 3 was the last version of the HER series released, and like all my work, it was developed entirely online with the players. After that, HER is present as part of my subsequent works in the Frontlines series.
Since the game’s server search system was very limited, I created some rules for everyone to follow so that everyone could find other HERservers and also other players to play with.
The participation was much greater than I imagined, and the mod was very successful and our development server was always full. So I made the Trailer below to use it to promote the release of the mod so that everyone could host their own HER servers.
The Trailerwas a success at the time, with thousands of views quickly, even on my extremely small channel. The buzz was so great that DICE, seeing the repercussion of the mod, released an update patch for BF3 that blocked many of my modifications, but the most devastating was making the mod unranked, which killed the interest of a large part of the players, where the majority want to play to level up, and with HER they blocked progression, thus cowardly sabotaging the project.
As a result, the number of players dropped dramatically and I even tried to solve it in another way, but since the entire ranking system was in DICE, there was nothing I could do about it.
Despite the sabotage, we still played for a long time with a smaller number of players until BF3 died. Unfortunately, my PC at the time was not powerful enough to record videos while I was playing, and there is no record of these glorious moments, especially those before the sabotage at launch.
