This is a brief summary of Freddy Hajas‘s career in Modding.

Freddy started in the 80s on MSX creating his first games and modifications, even before the term Modding had any meaning, modding mainly soccer games such as Konami’s Soccer and Match Day II. In 1992 moved to PC and dedicated himself for years to several soccer games such as Manchester United The Double, Goal!, Striker, Sensible Soccer, The Manager, Football Glory and Sensible World of Soccer, where he had his first success even at the beginning of the internet in 1995 with SWOS Brasil.
After discovering FPSwith Wolfenstein 3D back in 1992, he fell in love with the style and gradually migrated until he became 100% dedicated to it in 2000, specializing in FPS, where he became better known over the internet.

A regular user of the now-defunct PlanetQuake forums, where he met Gooseman and dozens of other renowned Modders. Years later, he was inducted into the Quake Hall of Fame alongside Gooseman, David ‘crt’ Wright, Maric, Jesterand several others because his work on Quake 2 Evolved Blood Culture, where he even used to answer questions about the Quake Engine from none other than Notch, while developing Minecraft.
He soon became a recognized Modder in the scene, and his next success was with the HER series for Medal of Honor and Battlefieldgames, which generated interviews and articles for websites and magazines and even reached German TV.

Then, he released Call of Duty Frontlines, his most important and successful work to date. In which he created dozens of Gametypes and Innovations that over time have become standard in FPS games to this day. Since 2008, it has been very difficult to find an FPS without any of his creations. Frontlines maintains a loyal player base more than 15 years after its first release in 2008, receiving the nickname Epic Mod and winning the World’s Best Call of Duty Mod Award three times. Much of what was created for it was incorporated into the original series and then spread throughout the world.

Frontlines also yielded several interviews and articles on websites and magazines around the world, including printed ones like the German’s PC Games & PC Action. In addition to the awards, Freddy Hajas was the only developer from outside the Europe/North America axis to participate in the famous and highly regarded BashandSlash, both in written articles and also participating in the Podcastin 2008. The same place where Robert Bowling (fourzerotwofrom Infinity Ward) revealed the end of dedicated servers in MW2. Some interesting facts: this was the only episode with more views than Hajas’s, and we believe it was the first participation of a Brazilian in an online podcast in history.
Frontlines has received several versions for other titles in the Call of Duty series, such as World at War, Modern Warfare 2 and Black Ops. Black Frontlines (as the Black Ops version became known) has remained the most popular and highest rated mod on ModDBsince its release in 2012. In the same year, it was chosen as one of the best Mods of the year by ModDB editors, and has won the Best Call of Duty Black Ops Mod in the World Award every year for over a decade.
Freddy also participated in the award-winning Galactic Warfare Mod for Call of Duty, an incredible modification that transforms Call of Duty into Star Wars. He later continued the project alone, adding new content and bots (AI), and Star Wars Frontlines became another highlight in his career.
To cap off his career in Modding, he delivered a Total Conversion of his own Frontlines as his portfolio. Call of Duty Rio was released in 2018 with extreme success, despite being restricted to Brazil and the Portuguese language. It also featured dozens of participations from relevant artists in Brazil, both national and international, mainly in the dubbing, which is considered by players to this day as the best Brazilian localization ever made in history.
Call of Duty Rio was voted the Best Call of Duty mod in the World by players twice in the Mod Of The Year 2021 & 2022 Awards on the renowned ModDB. There is no other mod better rated in the entire history of the Site, as well as Call of Duty.
