Synthphony REMIXed! vol.2
In July 2004 I received an invite by David Lin of the NYC based label Synthphony Records to produce a full length remix album.

The initial project was remix 10 tracks of bands selected by the label, but since I already have few unreleased remixes, and was already in negotiations with some bands and also making somes, David let me select all the tracks of my remix album, which make me very happy. Take a look also about this release at FiberOnline, a brazilian electronic music online magazine (in portuguese).

10. The Dignity of Labour "XRV [Hajas Rio Mix]"
11. Color Theory "Sweetest Perfection [Hajas Sloth Mix]"
12. Will Loconto "The Last Good Day [Hajas Lost Mix]"

The entire album was produced, programmed, arranged and mixed by myself. Ken Porter from the american band Intuition was in charge of the mastering.

I had a good freedom in the choice of the bands, and tryed to mix the classic synthpop from 80's with the modern scene, inviting from big and famous bands, until novices which don't even have an album out yet, but all with top quality.

Hajas - MySpace With that, the CD became very diversified, not making the album monotonous or repetitive, beeing great to listen from the first until the last track, forming a modern synthpop album to all the tastes. Below you will find details about each track with samples, links, etc... You can also preview all the tracks at MySpace Music.

Virtual Server "Why (Would I) [Hajas 2K4 RMX]"

Nothing better than start from the begin, because was remixing this song in 2002 that open the first doors to my young career as remixer, and now I bring you a new unreleased version of this amazing song by the international project Virtual Server led for the russian DJ RAM, which have vocals and lyrics by Stefan Netschio of the german band Beborn Beton.

Droom "Blood Culture [Hajas Arena Mix]"

This is another very special track to me, because aside is great, was the first time that I was invited by a band to remix his work. Droom is an excellent canadian band, that it comes revolutionizing the electronic music with his unique style, and is releasing his second album which bring the original version of "Blood Culture".

Real Life "Painless [Hajas 5T4T3 RMX]"

The australian band Real Life always went one of my main influences in music since I heard his mega hit "Send me an Angel". This is a more modern and dark version of this song, different of the more 80's version which is available at the official site. It was really an honor to remix and to have them in my album.

Opium "Faked Emotions [Hajas Vladivostok Mix]"

Opium is an old russian band, where my old time friend Liav from Israel became a member some years ago, and just released an great double album this year! This partnership happens like a perfect marriage between his beautiful songs with my work. This is my second remix to them, and the other will be released soon in a compilation under A Different Drum.

Tristraum "I'm Under No One [Hajas SWOS Mix]"

I was already working in this remix by invitation of this amazing american band when I was asked to do the album. Soon I was gotten in love for the sound of Tristraum. This remix was beeing produced to be released in the next band's CD. But I asked to instead that, be released in my album, which was very well accepted by the band. With that, this song became the only track with female vocals on the album.

New Concept "Station Man [Hajas NER Mix]"

After finished the first 10 tracks of my CD, the label asked to make more two remixes to finish the album, and one of the options given was this great song by New Concept, a german band that I knew not much well. But aside that, I really liked the song, and was one of the two tracks chosen and was very cool to remix. The result became really good, so good that brings one of my best and beautiful solos until today, mixing piano with strings.

Anything Box "Clean [Hajas Hope Mix]"

In 2003 I participated in a remix contest of Anything Box, and until today no one remix was released, I asked permission to used it in my album, what make me very proud and happy for be present here. Aside be an unreleased song, I made the remix with a modern style but with the same Feeling that this amazing US band had in the early 90's, while the original song is more turned to Pop/Rock.

!Distain "Sex'n'Cross [Hajas Universal Mix]"

This excellent german band was the other song sent by the label in the last moment, just one of the first modern bands that I became fan. I'm very happy to have !Distain in my album, and was an enormous pleasure remix them. Aside this song be more strong, I made a version a lot more soft than the original one, mixing with some kind of Freestyle beats.

Project David "We'll Go On [Hajas Dark Mix]"

Project David is the great solo project by David Hanono, ex-member of the band The Voice In Fashion, which became very famous with the hits "Only In The Night" and mainly "Give Me Your Love", especially in Brazil. Band led by the famous producer Lewis A Martineé, which produced from Exposé to "Domino Dancing" by Pet Shop Boys, which brings nothing more than backing vocals by David Hanono.

The Dignity of Labour "XRV [Hajas Rio Mix]"

This remix to the US band TDOL was requested in 2003, but was only made later in 2004 to be released in the selftitled single, but was cut in the last moment. With the album I had the chance to finaly release it, which make the band and I very happy, since this is one my best works and finally will be pressed.

Color Theory "Sweetest Perfection [Hajas Sloth Mix]"

This is another remix made to a remix contest, this time to the american band Color Theory, which my remix was one of the winners, but will never be released in CD. I loved the final result, and was also a cover of my beloved Depeche Mode, so can't be more perfect to enter in my album. Don't forget to listen the original version of this cover.

Will Loconto and Steve Paul "The Last Good Day [Hajas Lost Mix]"

This track isn't really a remix, but a full remake, where Will Loconto record the vocals specially to this project. He was the lead singer of the US band T42 which have many hits like the cover of Heaven 17's "Let Me Go", and after worked many years with Information Society. Today Will work doing music to games and soundtracks. Both recorded this song under the name 90°, which was released in 1994 by the dead Control-Alt-Delete.
