In September 1997, a friend invited me to work at Openlink<\/strong>, which at the time was the Internet<\/strong> reference in Brazil, and had the largest Internet link in Brazil, with just 1MB direct to Global One<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It was located at the Rio de Janeiro Teleport<\/strong>, where the Internet practically began in Brazil, and they were expanding rapidly, and they hired several students from PUC-RIO<\/strong> at once, and I was one of them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since it was still very early in the process, we learned almost everything there, studying the material we were given on our own and with the help of a few more experienced people. It was there that I got to know HTML<\/strong> in depth and was able to perfect my first website at Geocities<\/strong>, created in the PUC-RIO<\/strong> IT lab in the limited time of 30 minutes per day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

My main duties were mainly General Internet Support, including all installation and customer support, such as dialers, e-mail, SMTP, FTP, LPs (Private Lines), etc. Since it was the best internet provider at the time, many famous and renowned people were Openlink<\/strong> customers, and I used to personally serve many of them, from Monique Evans<\/strong> to Paulo Betti<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is where I developed my best DOOM<\/a><\/strong> map to play with my coworkers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I worked there for a little over a year, when I left at the end of 1998 to go work at IRB<\/strong>. Soon after, Openlink<\/strong> was bought by PSI.Net<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
