Droom is an excellent band from Canada formed in 2002
that I knew very bad,
and only listened to the nice song "While We Can"
from A Different Drum's
promo, label that released his two first singles and his album
128 1/2 Days which I always hear very nice feedbacks about
anywhere I went.
But this time happen the inverse that always happened, was the band that came to me asking for my remix services, because they listen to my remixes and want a remix by me of his songs. Something that let me a lot happy for sure. Graham sent me the first demo of his new song "Blood Culture" that I loved for the first listen, and soon after in october he sent me the vocals and also many isolated parts of the song, which gave me more stuff to use in the remix without losing the original sound of the band. The big difficult to me work in this song was because one of my 128mb of RAM crash, and I was running all with only 128mb of RAM now, and I can't play to listen what I'm doing in real time, make me programming without heard anything, render the Wave file (process that take almost 1 hour) to listen the WAV, memorise all corrections, fixes, and adds to back to programming. So render again to listen, and this repeated MANY times, wasting a lot of time. And when I was finaly finished the song, my CD recorded crashed too (I need a new PC!) and nothing could make he back to work again. But I still have an old an good SCSI recorder in my old machine, which I burn the CD to send to Canada, after Graham listen the MP3 and approved.
Was lucky that the deadline wasn't short, so all the hard work worth it. Was my first adventure in FuturePop. Should be released in 2004 by his own label. |
