2003

Between April and July of 2003 I studied in a very nice Home Studio school here in Rio to learn more about recording process. The professor Sérgio Izecksohn teach me many great techniques and theory that I never learned that help me a lot improving my work.

Accross the lessons we recorded and mixed the Pop/Rock song "Me Chama" by the famous brazilian artist Lobão and the result was nice aside the short time. Érico Barbeitos made the vocals and the acoustic guitar, Gustavo Monteiro the base electric guitar, André Rastaman the solo electric guitar, Newton Zen bass, e I stay with the keyboards. The drums was programmed by the professor Sérgio.

We use the drums of Roland XP-50 , André's own electric Les Paul guitar, MusicMan StingRay 5 Bass, Acoustic Folk Guitar YAMAHA F340, Microphones AKG C-414, Shure SM57 & SM58, and the Electric Piano Kawai MX-9000. All was sequenced and recorded at Cakewalk Sonar 2.2 and edited with Sonic Foundry Sound Forge 6.0 and we recorded all in one night at Home Studio.

Because almost have "Silva" as surname, Sérgio give the nickname of the class as Silvas Class, and that's why we named the "band" as The Silvas. You can hear the final result here.
